Air purifiers for schools and kindergartens: Rheinmetall supplying devices to the City of Hamburg
Responding to a public request for tenders, the Rheinmetall technology group has won an order from the authorities in Hamburg to supply air purifiers for schools and vocational training centres. Worth a figure in the single-digit million-euro range, the order – now official – encompasses 1,000 air purification devices. Fully assembled and ready to operate, these Type RX devices are due to be delivered by the end of September 2021. Luftreiniger für Schulen und Kitas: Rheinmetall liefert Geräte für die Stadt Hamburg
Der Technologiekonzern Rheinmetall hat im Rahmen einer öffentlichen Ausschreibung den Auftrag der Hamburger Behörde für Schule und Berufsbildung zur Lieferung von Luftreinigungsgeräten erhalten. Die jetzt erfolgte Bestellung von 1.000 Luftreinigern beläuft sich auf einen einstelligen MioEUR-Betrag. Die fertig montierten und betriebsbereiten Geräte vom Typ RX pro sollen bereits bis Ende September 2021 ausgeliefert werden. Dieser Auftrag wird über das Rheinmetall Tochterunternehmen Pierburg GmbH abgewickelt und ist ein bedeutender Meilenstein in der Umsetzung der „Beyond Automotive“-Strategie innerhalb des Rheinmetall Konzerns. International Air Show Kecskemét: Rheinmetall zeigt in Ungarn aktuelle Systeme für moderne Streitkräfte
Erstmals seit 2013 veranstalten die ungarischen Streitkräfte am 28. und 29. August 2021 auf dem Luftwaffenstützpunkt Kecskemét die International Air Show. Im Zentrum steht dabei die Modernisierung der ungarischen Streitkräfte. Als einer deren wichtigster Partner ist auch Rheinmetall auf der Veranstaltung vertreten, um über aktuelle Projekte und Produkte zu informieren. Hierzu zählen: Gefechtsfahrzeugfamilie Lynx KF41: Ungarn ist der erste NATO- und EU-Mitgliedstaat, der sich für den neu entwickelten Schützenpanzer Lynx von Rheinmetall entschieden hat. American Rheinmetall Vehicles signs Master Cooperative Research and Development agreement with U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center
American Rheinmetall Vehicles has signed a Master Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM AC). This CRADA allows the DEVCOM AC and American Rheinmetall Vehicles to collaborate on a regular basis to develop integrated combat vehicle weapon, fire control, and ammunition technologies. Among other research and development tasks, the CRADA provides a conduit for the team to explore integration of the U.S. Army’s XM913 50mm cannon on platforms that are potential candidates for the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) program. The German Bundeswehr has ordered a tethered balloon-based area reconnaissance system for protecting a forward operating base in Niger. For Rheinmetall, the order represents sales of over €21 million net. Group subsidiary Rheinmetall Canada will be in charge of integrating the surveillance balloon’s sensors into the existing military C4I architecture. The system – also known as an aerostat – is already familiar to numerous soldiers and observers from previous deployments: the US armed forces have been using such area surveillance solutions for years to protect their forward operating bases. Rheinmetall ist von der Bundeswehr damit beauftragt worden, zum Schutz eines Feldlagers in Niger als Betreiber ein weiträumiges Aufklärungssystem in Form eines Überwachungsfesselballons bereitzustellen. An international partner has placed a follow-up order with Rheinmetall to supply material kits for the Fuchs/Fox 2 wheeled armoured vehicle. This new order, which also encompasses an initial supply of spare parts, is worth around €250 million. Delivery will take place during the 2021-2023 timeframe, with production to be carried out in the partner’s country. This major order underscores the long-lasting nature of this successful strategic partnership. The order is particularly important for the Group’s Kassel plant, birthplace of the tried-and-tested 6×6 vehicle.
