The rosy future of uranium

The uranium price has gone through periods of great volatility and probably has a great future ahead of it.

Supply and demand as well as technological developments have an impact on the price, as do current trends. These show that nuclear energy is on the rise almost worldwide, not least because of the need for clean and reliable energy. Investments in nuclear power plants and then the oil crisis in the 1970s drove the price up to around USD 40 per pound of uranium. The Chernobyl accident and a certain move away from nuclear power catapulted the price to below ten US dollars per pound. Fukushima added to this. By 2020, the price of uranium hovered between 20 and 35 US dollars per pound. Demand increased and in 2024 a pound of uranium cost just over 100 US dollars. Today, the price is around 70 US dollars. Mankind has seen several major energy transitions. The story goes from an agricultural way of life to the use of coal to oil and gas in the 20th century. The energy consumption of the earth’s inhabitants has steadily increased, and life expectancy continues to rise. Nuclear energy now has the ability to be the most efficient source of energy, and it emits no CO2. Many countries have recognized these advantages and are implementing them by planning and building new nuclear power plants. Some refer to the move away from nuclear energy as de-industrialization. Experts therefore foresee rising uranium prices and a shortage of uranium in the coming years. In order to participate in the stabilization of the uranium market and the upward price movement, investments in Uranium Energy or Premier American Uranium, two large uranium companies in the USA, are recommended.
