Rheinmetall Hungary Zrt. hat im Rahmen einer feierlichen Veranstaltung in Zalaegerszeg eine neue Investition angekündigt. Ziel des Projekts ist der Aufbau zusätzlicher Entwicklungs- und Ingenieurkapazitäten, um die lokale Fachkompetenz im Bereich militärischer Fahrzeugentwicklung nachhaltig zu stärken. Das Projekt wird durch die ungarische Investitionsförderagentur HIPA (Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency) unterstützt, die eine Förderung in Höhe von 1,4 Millionen Euro bereitstellt. Dadurch werden rund 80 zusätzliche, hochqualifizierte Arbeitsplätze für Ingenieurinnen und Ingenieure am Standort Zalaegerszeg geschaffen. Ein weiterer Fokus liegt auf der Weiterentwicklung der modernsten Fahrzeugsysteme von Rheinmetall, insbesondere des Schützenpanzers Lynx KF41 und des Kampfpanzers Panther KF51. In recent years, drones and Loitering Munitions have become increasingly important in modern warfare. Rheinmetall has responded to this development, both in terms of the deployment of these modern weapons as well as the defence against them. A few months ago, Rheinmetall completed a modern production facility for assembly, testing and warhead production and integration of Loitering Munitions (LM). In the meantime, the series production is at full speed. The facility is operated by the Italian subsidiary RWM Italia at its sites in Musei and Domusnovas in Sardinia. As a subcontractor to Global Military Products, a company commissioned by the US government, Rheinmetall Expal Munitions will supply 155 mm M107 projectiles with M4A2 propellant charges and 105 mm M1 projectiles to the customer. Rheinmetall ist mit der Lieferung von Munition an einen osteuropäischen Kunden beauftragt worden. So wird Rheinmetall Expal Munitions als Unterauftragnehmer des von der US-amerikanischen Regierung beauftragten Unternehmens Global Military Products 155-mm-M107-Geschosse mit M4A2-Treibladungen sowie 105-mm-M1-Geschosse an das Kundenland liefern. Der Auftragswert liegt bei insgesamt rund 444 MioEUR. Davon wurden bereits 170 MioEUR als Vorbestellung verbucht, so dass ein nun ein weiterer Auftragseingang von 274 MioEUR verbucht worden ist. Rheinmetall is further expanding its ammunition production capacity and is now planning to build a modern production facility for 155 mm calibre artillery ammunition in Latvia. In the presence of Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, a corresponding Memorandum of Understanding was signed today in Hamburg. The facility shall be operated by a joint venture between Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH (51%) and the Latvian State Defence Corporation, LLC of Latvia (49%).
